Mesenchymal Stem Cells are found in adipose tissue (fat cells). MSCs can be obtained by performing lipoaspiration in the office under local anesthetic. Lipoaspiration is similar to liposuction; however, there is no body contouring since only a low volume of fat is removed. The fat that has been removed is processed in a FDA compliant way, concentrating the MSCs, and the final product is injected into the injured area.

The harvest site is bandaged with a compression wrap.There is typically soreness in the area where the fat was removed for a few days. Generally, results are seen in a couple of months.
