Jay Sturm

MSA, ATC, LAT

At Paragon Sports Medicine, Ms. Sturm is the Clinical Research Coordinator for two ongoing FDA clinical trials involving regenerative medicine injections. She stays up to date on the latest regenerative medicine treatments and is actively involved in the care of patient’s receiving these therapies.

Jay joined Dr. Garten at his previous practice in 2014 where she served as his clinical assistant and athletic trainer. She was the Director of Research serving as the Study Coordinator for various clinical studies administered by Dr. Garten. She also served as internship coordinator for high school and collegiate students.

Jay earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Florida in 2012. As an athletic training student at Florida, she assisted with the medical coverage of multiple NCAA Division I sports including the SEC and National Champion football team (2008), women’s basketball, and top 10 nationally ranked track and field (2008), lacrosse (2011) and volleyball (2011) teams. In addition to NCAA Division I sports, she was an athletic training student at two local high schools, Gainesville and Buchholz, and multiple University of Florida affiliated summer sports camps.

Jay obtained her NATABOC certification for athletic training in 2012 and is a licensed athletic trainer in Georgia.

Jay then earned her Master of Sport Administration at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee in 2014. As a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Belmont, she was the athletic trainer for the softball team and cheerleading squad.

Jay is an active member in the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), Southeastern Athletic Trainers’ Association (SEATA), Georgia Athletic Trainers’ Association (GATA), and International Association for Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS).

In her free time, Jay likes to attend Florida Gator football games, concerts, crafting/DIYing, baking, and hanging out with her friends. She was born in Atlanta, raised in Smyrna, a graduate of Campbell High School.
